What's Your Goal?
The Magnetic Group - Jess |
December 1, 2009 Last week, we wrote about Brian Leonard, the trainer who has transformed my entire family.
What makes him so effective?
Brian makes every new client clearly define their goal. He doesn’t do it for you. He makes you state exactly what you want, and how you will measure success (e.g., increased speed, lower body fat, etc.).
Then he tells you to trust him and just do what he says to make it happen.
His workouts may induce vomiting. His diet will make you loathe raw vegetables. Frequently, you will find yourself thinking, “Why is he putting me through this?!?”
You will turn on him. Doubt him. Curse him. Threaten to leave him. Possibly attempt to drop a heavy dumbbell on his foot.
But throughout the entire process Brian is in your ear asking, “What’s your goal?” That reminder keeps you going; keeps you on track. Reminds you that you are working towards the goals that you set and that you want.
He’s not putting you through anything. He’s simply helping you attain your own aspirations.
Every business needs a Brian; someone to help it set goals, work towards them, and keep them in mind when the going gets tough.
Our goal is to be the Brian for our clients.
What’s yours?
